Mrs. Georgia Underwood Calhoun

 Mrs. Georgia Underwood Calhoun was born on June 21, 1930, in Choccolocco, Alabama, located in Calhoun County. A proud graduate of the historic Calhoun County Training School, she pursued higher education at Alabama State University, in Montgomery, AL., where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She later furthered her academic credentials at Jacksonville State University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Library Media Science (Click the Founder and Chair Link above for the full bio.)

Bishop Charles D. Gregory Sr. Ed.S.

Bishop Charles D. Gregory Sr. hails from Montgomery, Alabama. He is the founder and Senior Pastor of the Victory Headquarters Christian Center (One Church in Two Locations). The headquarters campus is located in Anniston, AL where he has served for over thirty years. Bishop Gregory honorably retired in March 2003 from the United States Army after 20 years of service having received the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, and many other awards and decorations. He is also a veteran of the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm). After retiring from the U.S. Army, Bishop Gregory then began a second career in education and consequently served in the Anniston City School System for approximately 20 years as a teacher, Asst. Principal, and ultimately retired having served as Principal of Anniston High School and Anniston Middle School with over 17 years of Administrative experience (Click the President of the Calhoun Emancipation Committee Link above for the full bio).

Mrs. Teresia Joyce-Moore Hall, Ed.S.

Teresia Joyce Moore Hall is a devoted educator, mentor, wife, mother, grandmother, and servant leader whose life’s work reflects her unwavering commitment to faith, family, and community. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, she was raised with a deep love for God and a heart for serving others and those values have guided both her ministry and her professional journey.

Teresia is a graduate of Gadsden High School and began her collegiate studies at Gadsden State Junior College. After years of working in ministry and secular employment, she felt a renewed calling to education and returned to complete her academic preparation. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Faulkner University, a Master of Science in Education (Early Childhood and Elementary Education) from Jacksonville State University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership (Class AA Administrative Certification) from Jacksonville State University (Click the Executive Secretary Link above for the full bio).

Mrs. Trudy Munford

Born and raised in Anniston, Alabama, the young Trudy Louise Moses had no inkling where life would lead her when she left home for Florida A& M University. In the process of transforming from Trudy, the girl, to Trudy, the woman, she found herself even more keenly aware of injustice and inequality and became active in the Civil Rights Movement. 

Her involvement in demonstrations and protests led to arrest and the terror of interrogation. But the liberated mind is unlikely to be silenced, and after graduation Trudy began to teach in the South. After marriage, Trudy Moses Munford found herself in Buffalo, New York (Up-South), armed with her diploma and a burning desire to continue reaching out to people and to make the world fairer and better (Click Vice-President link above for full bio). 

Reverend Jimmie Lee Jackson

Reverend Jimmy Lee Jackson is a living testament to faith, perseverance, leadership, and service. He is a native of Anniston AL. and he attended and completed grades first through sixth at South Highland Elementary School from 1951 to 1956. He went on to graduate from Cobb Avenue High School in 1963 as an honor roll student. During his high school years, he was also a member of the 1963 undefeated Cobb High School basketball championship team, demonstrating excellence both academically and athletically (Click the Treasurer link above for the full bio).

Reverend Dan Huguley

Member of the Calhoun Emancipation Committee

Reverend Dann Huguley is the pastor of Saint John and Haven United Methodist Churches in Anniston, Alabama. He accepted his call to ministry at an early age and is dedicating his life to preaching the Gospel and serving the ministry for eight years.

 

Reverend Huguley is actively involved in community development efforts in Anniston. He works to promote better housing, education, and improved economic opportunities for families.

 

He is married and a proud father of his family and believes that faith and service together can transform communities.

Deacon Walter White

Member of the Calhoun Emancipation Committee

Deacon White was born in Prentiss, Ms. He served 22 years in the US Army. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Christian Education from the Birmingham Easonian Bible College. He is the Laymen President of the Snow Creek District in Anniston, Al.

Mrs. Yvonne Walker

Mrs. Yvonne Marshall Walker was born in Utica, Mississippi. As a young girl, her family moved to several different states before eventually returning to Mississippi during a time when segregation was still a painful reality. Growing up during that era, she personally witnessed the challenges and injustices of segregation, experiences that helped shape her strength, resilience, and deep appreciation for progress and opportunity.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, in search of greater opportunities. While living in Chicago, she met and married the love of her life, Gerald Walker, a native of Anniston, Alabama. During her time in Chicago, Mrs. Walker built a successful career, working for Allstate Insurance Company for twenty years (Click Asst. Secretary link for full bio).

Asp. Missionary Elizabeth Morris

Elizabeth Chanelle Morris is the daughter of Anthony and Lena Morris. In the earlier years of her life, she resided in Detroit, Michigan until later moving to Jacksonville, Alabama in 2009.

Elizabeth was educated in both the Jacksonville and Anniston City Schools system graduating class of 2021. Upon graduation, she joined the work force specializing in hospitality. She has served extensive roles in the restaurant industry over the course of seven years.
